Heavy fighting in north Sri Lanka
SRI LANKA-The Sri Lankan army says that 25 of its troops were killed and 10 are missing after fighting with Tamil Tiger rebels in the north of the island on Tuesday. A spokesman for the rebels told the BBC that the army's offensive in the north of the country had been met with "fierce resistance". BBc
