Sunday Leader chief editor Lasantha Wickramatunga was shot



SRI LANKA-Sunday Leader chief editor Lasantha Wickramatunga was shot a short while ago at the Bakery Junction, Attidiya. He has been admitted to Kalubowila Hospital.

Lasantha Wickramatunga is in critical condition, hospital sources confirmed. He is currently being taken to the Colombo General Hospital for surgery. According to reports available at the moment, two armed men had come in two motorcycles, blocked his vehicle and shot him near the ear.

Kalubowila Hospital authorities have decided not to bring Lasantha to the Colombo General Hospital, and was taken to the operating theater for immediate surgery.dailymirror
