Troops overrun 2 LTTE bunker defences, destroy another- Kilinochchi
SRI LANKA-57 Division troops continuing their multi-frontal thrust at the outer fringe of Kilinochchi at Adampan South, Puthumurippukulam, North of Kokkuvil and Terumurikandy have inflicted heavy damages to LTTE during intense fighting reported throughout the day on Sunday (Dec 7).
At Puthumurippukulam, troops ran into 2 LTTE bunker overheads and gained total control, while another was reported destroyed following a series of Army heavy gun attacks. Terrorists have also put-on stiff resistance in the area despite sustaining heavy loses, Wanni military sources said. The military advances continued amidst rains which affected both Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu districts yesterday, the sources added.
Meanwhile, a 57 division offensive battalion advancing from North of Kokkuvil towards Terumurikandy, has also confronted with LTTE in several occasions forcing terrorist to flee with casualties, military said. defence.lk
