New appointments in Defence top brass
Lankapuvath- President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed Army Chief Sarath Fonseka as the Chief of Defence Staff. Maj. Gen Jagath Jayasuriya has been appointed as the new Army Commander with effect from July 15.
