Media Minister- Sri Lanka.

Media-Sri Lanka-At least 4 journalists were attacked in several times in January 2008.The TV journalist Lal Hemantha Mawalage, was attacked by two tags last 25at 9.00pm while he going to his resident at Annasiwathta,Athurugiriya.He was serious injured and admitted general hospital Colombo.

Journalist Lasantha Ruhunage of Ravaya news paper was treated last 29 of January. Journalist complained to the Mirihana police.

The Sub Editor Muhammad Shahir was attacked unknown gangs in his home. Anyone couldn’t identified who was attacked to him. Another TV journalist Dulip Ranasinhe was under treat.He was complained to the police. Hit men come to his house and treated his family members while Dulip not house at that time.

Police is inquiring and investigating these incident said, ASP Desabandu Thennakon in the press briefing.
