SRI LANKA-All PC propaganda campaigns for the August 23 polls for the Sabaragamuwa and North Central provincial councils ended yesterday, more incidents of election-related violence , including shootings, have been reported mainly from the Anuradhapura district which turned into battle field.
UPFA UNP and JVP supporters clashed and more persons were injured, one of them very seriously. Vehicles in which the UPFA candidates came were also damaged very badly, according to reports.
They have been warded in the Anuradhapura hospital. The condition of one is serious. In another incident Minister Duminda Dissanayake's personal assistant was shot at in Eppawela and has been warded in the Anuradhapura .pix-Dinamina
