Government to donate US$ 25,000 to Myanmar

SRI LANKA-The government has decided to donate US$ 25,000 to Myanmar as assistance to the victims of the recent cyclone and is also contemplating sending a team of medical doctors and nurses to the country.

- Sri Lanka's Supreme Court on Monday barred security forces from evicting ethnic Tamils without a court order, officials said, following a mass expulsion last year that drew global condemnation.
